  1. Fast Loading: This is first and foremost the important tip to be followed. The looks of the website have to be undoubtedly amazing but if the time taken for the page to load is slow then believe me only a few people will be viewing your site. There has to be optimum designs for your web and it should not be taking more than around 15 seconds for loading.
  2. Clear Navigation: Once there are visitors on your site ensure that they go through the site. For this there has to be a very clear navigation. Try to have all important links at the required places. The right place to have all the links is at the top because that’s the place where the visitor will look first. Try and link majority of the pages on the site.
  3. All resolutions: In today’s world computers have all different resolutions. The important thing is to design the required site for all the resolutions. Design your website in percentage terms and not in terms of pixels.
  4. Browser Compatibility: Your site always has to be browser compatible. Design the website in such a way that it looks good both on Netscape and in Internet.
  5. Selecting Fonts: While selecting the font style for the website make sure they are professional and readable. Try not to use any kind of fancy fonts with bright colors. If the font used while designing is unavailable at the end-user’s computer in such cases the web uses the default one.
  6. Minimal usage of images: Simple designs are sometimes the effective ones for a website. Don’t ever clutter your website page with huge and bulky images as they take a long time to load. Inspite of using these images try to use tables or design some icons that are eye-catching. This will also help to get the visitor’s attention towards the particular section in the site.
  7. White Space usage: Try to keep the designing simple by using minimum graphics and use lots of white space. Having a lot of white space makes the site look neat.
  8. Broken links to be checked: Before uploading your site to the web server make sure to check all the broken links. There are different software’s available to cross check broken links.
